Today's Quick Mention: Fear not!
After having March's activities turn the schedule
around here all screwy, I won't allow Easter to come
in and bring us down. Content will be as usual
throughout the weekend.
Let's get this craziness started! Enjoy.
:Mark
Foster, A-Track, Kimbra - Warrior:
Converse has thrown some random artists together,
and while I don't think every collaboration has
worked, on occasion a gem does get delivered.
This is one of those times. Unless, of course,
you don't like pop music. Or moving your body.
This track is part of the ongoing Three Artists.
One Song. series. You should grab it while
you can.
:The
Eastern Sea - A Lie:
I've waited a
rather long time for Matt Hines, who is one of my
favorite local artists, to give me some new music,
and it's finally arrived. You're going to like
it. Just be sure to do me a favor and share it
with a few friends. They should also be in the
loop on stuff this good. The band will happily
give you the Plague LP on June 26.
:Dirty
Projectors - Gun Has No Trigger:
I'm not entirely sure how they do it, but the Dirty
Projectors always manage to blow my mind in some way
or another. I mean, how many acts out there
can craft a song like they can? Grab some nice
headphones for this, and don't be afraid to leave it
on repeat for a while. You can expect to see
Swing Lo Magellan later this year via Domino.
:Father
John Misty - Nancy From Now On:
In case you haven't
already had this bit of info pounded into your head
a million times by now, the the main brain for this
act used to be the drummer for Fleet Foxes.
No, that's not a reason to like it, but this oddly
groovy track should do the trick. Sub Pop will
release Father John Misty's debut, Fear Fun,
on May 1.
:Tim
Fite - Bully:
Somewhere along the way I totally missed the boat on
Tim Fite's new full length. Sorry, old buddy!
In any case, I want to give it a plug now via this
track, which is my favorite off the album.
You're a monster if it doesn't get stuck in your
head for at least a day. Tim's Ain't Ain't
Ain't is currently available. Please go
and buy a copy or 12.
