Today's Quick Mention: I got things
going on this Thursday with the latest video from
Jack White. It's for the track Sixteen
Saltines, and it's a bit weird. Check it
out.
Tunes to remember me by. Enjoy.

Segall And White Fence - I Am Not A Game:
I'm starting to really dig this collaborative
effort, which features Ty Segall, Tim Presley, Sean
Presley, and Mikal Cronin. There's a certain
effortlessness about the whole project that's just
undeniably good. The band will release Hair
on April 24 via Drag City. You can also expect
to see them together at the Mohawk on May 25.
:Reptar
- Orifice Origami:
Reptar was
already high on my list of upcoming full lengths
that I'm anxious to hear, but this track has just
ruined all of that. I now can't wait to
get my ears on it. So far they've put out two
singles (including today's track), and both have
been absolute gems. Sadly, Body Faucet
is not available until Vagrant releases it to the
world on May 1.
:Magic
Trick - Torture:
Tim Cohen is busy guy. He has his duties with
the Fresh And Onlys, solo stuff to tend to, and now
there's this latest endeavor. I don't know if
the rest of his work under this moniker is going to
be as moody as this track is, but I sort of hope so
- it works rather well. Hardly Art will put
out Ruler Of The Night whenever June 12
decides to roll around.
:Lemonade
- Neptune:
This act already has a full length and an EP under
their belt, but I'm just now finding out about them.
Is the older stuff worth checking out? I think
this is a pretty great pop number, and I'm down to
dig around if I know they're going to deliver more
of the same. You can expect to see Diver
everywhere on May 29 via True Panther.
:Screaming
Females - Expire:
I wasn't sure if I liked this song the first time I
gave it a listen, but I ended up finding some love
for it. I think it was the guitar work that
made me want to keep coming back. Consider
this one more of a grower than a shower. The
band just released the pleasantly titled Ugly
on Don Giovanni. Be sure to run out and snatch
it up.
