Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Because of scheduling conflicts, Colin Farrell will not appear in Arthur And Lancelot.  Gary Oldman has already been cast as Merlin.

Chris Columbus may adapt Home Front.  The book follows a woman who has to leave her family for a tour of duty in Iraq.

Marvel has narrowed their list of Captain America 2 directors down to George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job), and Anthony and Joseph Russo (Community).

A sequel to Twins is happening.  Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are set to return, and Eddie Murphy will also star.  No word yet on a director.

Ben Affleck has replaced Tom Cruise in Nathan Decker, which is about a politician who returns to his hometown after he's caught in a scandal.

Anchorman 2 is finally happening.  The entire cast is set to return.  Adam McKay will direct, and Judd Apatow will produce.

A remake of Carrie is underway, and Chloe Morentz (Kick Ass) has landed the lead role.

Darren Aronofsky has agreed to direct Get Happy.  Anne Hathaway is set to star in the biopic based on singer Judy Garland.

Kenneth Branagh may direct the next Jack Ryan movie.  Chris Pine is still attached to star.

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis may star in the Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending.

Child's Play is getting a reboot and a spin-off.  No word yet on when these can be expected.

Jonathan Liebesman recently said he's working on a script for a Battle: Los Angeles sequel.

Randy Couture let it slip that Expendables 3 is expected to start shooting in the fall.

Michael Bay has said that Paramount marketing is to blame for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles being changed to just Ninja Turtles.
