Today's Quick Mention: Fantastic Fest
starts back for me tonight. It's been a good
time, but I have to admit I'm kind of ready for it
be over since sitting for hours upon hours has
turned out to be much more difficult than I
originally anticipated. Look for my recap of
the film festival this weekend.
I need to stop talking about Yuck. I just
mentioned the band a few weeks back, and now here
they are again. It's crazy. And
ridiculous. Sorry. On the flip side, if
you don't mind then I think you'll really like the
latest bonus track to leak off the upcoming deluxe
edition of their self titled debut. It's due
out October 11 on Fat Possum. Enjoy.

- Soothe Me:
My favorite Yuck is the one that leans hard on the indie
rock side of things and gives me something that's worthy of
an all-too loud volume. This isn't that.
However, like the rest of the band's stuff, the songwriting
is good and there's just enough of a hook to get the track
lodged in your head for a while. I hope the band comes
back to Austin soon so that I can hear some of these "new"
tunes live.
