Today's Quick Mention:  Don't forget that tonight I'm joining a little discussion about blogging/writing at the Parish for Music Movie Monday.  It starts at 7:30pm and is free, so come by and say hello.

Now, let's get sort of crazy.  Enjoy.

:Real Estate - Green Aisles:  While I tend to prefer this band when they're aiming for something a bit more catchy than this, I do really like this track.  It's as well crafted as anything you'll come across today, which makes it a joy to listen to.  Domino will put out the anticipated Days on October 18.  If I'm lucky there will be a tour date set for Austin before the end of the year (or SXSW).

:Arms - Fleeced:
I liked most of this act's debut, Kids Aflame, but at the of day I thought it need something else to keep me coming back for more.  Maybe that whatever will be there on the new LP.  They're certainly off to a good start with this slick number.  Summer Skills is the name of their sophomore full length, and it is set to be self released on November 8.

:Radiation City - The Color Of Industry:  The press release says Radiation City has put together a 60s girl group inspired effort, and that's all the info I need to get me interested in it.  Granted, this rather neat sounding single also helped my interest level quite a bit.  The Hands That Take You is the name of their debut, and it's due out tomorrow via Tender Loving Empire.

:Peggy Sue - Cut My Teeth:  I missed this band's debut, so I before I hit play I looked at the name and assumed it would be some sort of alt-country sounding stuff.  It isn't.  In fact, it's more 90s alt-rock than anything, which means I was what could be described as "way off."  Oh well.  Do yourself a favor and play this as loud as you can.  Yep Rock will release Acrobats on October 25.

:Saskatchewan - Skinny Dipping:  Normally, I take a good hour or two over the weekend to browse other sites to see what I missed.  However, on Sunday I had about 5 minutes, which somehow still worked out because I was able to stumble across this well-layered gem.  Victory!  The Skinny Dipping 7" features two tracks is currently available via Bandcamp for just a buck.
