Today's Quick Mention:  As you surely know, ACL starts today.  Don't expect any content until Tuesday, which is when I expect to (hopefully) realize I'm not dead.  If you're here for the festival then play it safe, stay hydrated and try not to kill anyone.

Now excuse me while I leave you with these tunes and enter the chaos.  Enjoy.

:Florence And The Machine - Shake It Out:  This band is an absolute blast to watch on a stage, but I didn't really dig their debut.  I thought it sounded too produced.  This track does too, actually, but for whatever reason I've been unable to get it out my head.  Guess we'll call it a guilty pleasure.  Or I'm just finally coming around on them.  Who knows.  Ceremonials is due out October 31.

:Cults - Go Outside (Menahan Street Band Remix):
Oddly enough, I've been listening to this band's full length a lot lately, and this is one of the tracks that I've managed to re-fall in love with.  Now, with this super slick arrangement provided by the Menahan Street Band, I'm even more into it.  This isn't on any sort of official release, so be sure to grab it while you can.

:Way Yes - Automail:  While I'm not at all a fan of this act's name (seriously, how do you tell someone with a straight face that a band called Way Yes is worthy of their time?), this is a rather nice track.  It's clearly not in any sort of hurry to get anywhere, but it's a fun one to turn on loud and let play out a few times.  The always busy Lefse will release Oranjudilo on October 18.

:MGMT - All We Ever Wanted Was Everything (Bauhaus Cover):  Well, I'll just tell you straight up - you aren't going to like this too much if you loathe the 60s psych version of MGMT.  Fortunately for me, I don't really mind so much, and I like how this weird cover seems to get more interesting with every listen.  This is from a compilation called LateNightTales, which us due October 3.

:Twin Shadow - Changes:  At first I thought this song was taking itself a bit too seriously, but after a few listens I found myself picking up what it's putting down.  In other words, if you don't initially fall in love with what you hear, give it another play or two.  Twin Shadow are apparently working on a new album that will be out via 4AD at some point in the first of 2012.
