Today's Quick Mention: Our pals the
Sour Notes put together a nifty benefit for Bastrop
wildfire victims at 29th Ballroom tonight. The
lineup is great, and it's only $5. Support the
cause! Or at least go see Monarchs at the
Mohawk for their last show in town.
While A Brief History Of Love didn't exactly
grab onto me and never let go, I did (and still very
much do) absolutely love the Big Pink track
Dominoes. Time to attempt to move on,
though, and the band's new single will certainly
help. Check it out below. Their sophomore
effort is titled Future This, but 4AD has yet
to give it an official release date. Enjoy.
:The
Big Pink - Stay Gold:
Whether this is what I expected or what I was hoping for, I
don't know. It's got a big sound and an equally large
hook, which is what I wanted more of. But not much
seems to have changed, which might not be a great sign
considering their last collection of anthems didn't hold up
for me. Who knows!? At least this is a good
track.
