Today's Quick Mention: If you need
music tonight, Tim Kasher is playing the Mohawk, and
Leatherbag will be at Hole In The Wall. On an
unrelated note, a local business called
EasyCanvasPrints
did me a solid recently, and you should check out
some words about it
here.
I really like David Vandervelde, so it pains me a
bit to know that I missed the below single by
roughly six eternities (in internet time). Oh
well. On the bright side, I get to share it
now with the knowledge that a third full length from
him is done. It's called Big Lies, and
I'm guessing Secretly Canadian will release it
before the end of the year. Enjoy.

Vandervelde - More Than You Can Feel:
The track is all kinds of serious when it comes to the
actual lyrics (it was meant as a tribute to the late Jay
Bennett, who was Vandervelde's mentor/friend), but the
actual music itself is the sort of classic rock goodness
that makes me want to hang out on a porch somewhere with a
beer in my hand. Now if only it wasn't 125 degrees in
Austin so that I could do just that without melting.
