Today's Quick Mention:  St. Vincent is tonight!  You have to be there with me.  Doors at ACL Live at the Moody Theater open at 6:30pm.  Tickets are just $20. Cate Le Bon is opening.

And now, some music.  Enjoy.

:Spanish Prisoners - Know No Violence:  Some of you may already be well aware of this band, but my introduction didn't happen until I stumbled across this pop gem in a CMJ-related post on I Guess I'm Floating.  I need more, which I'll get by snatching up their full length, Gold Fools, from Bandcamp.  It's currently available for the rather cheap price of 50 cents.

:Phenomenal Handclap Band - Following:
This is an act that hasn't exactly impressed me in the past, so I have to admit I wasn't overly excited when this new track popped up.  But, here we are, which clearly means I'm liking what I'm hearing now.  Hopefully the rest of their upcoming album is this catchy and danceable.  Form And Control will be out in early 2012 via Tummy Touch Records.

:Talkdemonic - Revival:  Because my brain sometimes needs a jump, I was reminded of needing to talk about Talkdemonic's new album when it was announced last week that they'd be opening for Modest Mouse at both of their Stubb's shows next month.  The LP is called Ruins, this well crafted instrumental number is off it, and if you like what you hear you can pick up the effort right now on Glacial Pace Recordings (Isaac Brock's label).

:Bombadil - Laundromat:  I tend to have mixed feelings about this band when it comes to their actual albums, but they never seem to fail to deliver at least one track that I struggle to take off repeat.  This effortless number is that song on All That The Rain Promises, which is Bombadil's new full length.  You'll be able to get it on November 8 via Ramseur Records.

:Sea Weeds - Fall Boi:  Total Babe-member Lizzie Carolan has apparently been utilizing her spare time rather well, and the product of it is an EP under the moniker of Sea Weeds.  As of now, this is the only song I've heard off it, but it's more than good enough to make me feel safe about advising you to snatch up the Fur Coast EP when it gets released on October 31.
