Today's Quick Mention:  Tonight is probably a good night to catch a movie or to find a nice place to watch Monday Night Football, but if you need some live music you could see Kevin Devine and An Horse at Emo's.

Sounds for your Monday.  Enjoy.

:Duchess Says - Time To Reiterate:  A couple of years back this band had a raucous track titled Ccut Up that made my year-end top song list.  This, if I'm honest, isn't as good, but it's still a fun, dance-enthused listen that's worthy of however much time you're willing to spend with it.  The oddly titled In A Fung Day T! is expected everywhere tomorrow via Alien8.

:Bare Wires - Back On The Road:
Way back in April when I first shared something from this band I left a note on the post saying that they were going to start work on a full length soon.  Well, I guess that was sooner than I thought, because on Friday I got an email with this catchy tune and news about an LP titled Cheap Perfume being due out October 18 via Southpaw Records.  Way to get it done, fellas.

:Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Cardinal Rules:  The guys behind SSLYBY are apparently a prolific bunch, and to prove it they're putting out a 26-track album full of stuff they've done in between and around their three "official" LPs.  This is upbeat number is my favorite on Tape Club, but if you happen to not dig it then know there's a large variety of other stuff on there that you may like.  Polyvinyl will release the disc on October 18.

:Snails - She'd Like An Hour:  There's a chance this may be a bit too intricate for the attention span that usually comes along with a Monday, but I think you'll find this semi-whimsical track to be a good one if you're willing to set aside five minutes and throw on some headphones.  The band's debut 7" is due out at some point later this month on The Great Pop Supplement.

:The Echo-Friendly - Boats:  I vaguely remember checking out some stuff from this band a while back, but for some reason I didn't bite.  So what's changed?  I don't have a clue.  I just know that that this driving pop song has been stuck in my head all weekend, and that kind of thing is always worthy of a mention.  Same Mistakes is currently available on Cantora Records.
