Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

Director Pete Travis has reportedly left Judge Dredd, which is currently being edited, because of creative differences.  No word yet on who will replace him.

Hopefully The Raven will turn out to be a good.  Here's the first trailer.

Craig Brewer recently said that he has only written a single Tarzan movie for Warner Bros.  A trilogy was thought to be in the works.

Stuart Beattie will direct, and Aaron Eckhart will star in I, Frankenstein.  The movie is said to follow Frankenstein's creation, Adam, as he enters a present day war between two immortal clans.

Young Adult should be a gem.  Check out the trailer.

A Dr. Seuss biopic is said to be in the works.  Johnny Depp is one of the producers, and it's being rumored that he may star as well.

Here's another Adventures Of Tintin trailer.  I can't wait to see the movie.

Matthew Vaughn has bought the rights to Mark Millar's Superior.  The graphic novel follows a boy who gets one wish that he uses to become his favorite super hero.

Clint Eastwood will star in Trouble With The Curve, which is about an aging baseball scout who goes on the road with his daughter.

I don't think War Horse looks very interesting, but maybe it's just the cheesy trailer that's not working for me.

Warner Bros. and Robert Downey Jr. have reportedly teamed up for a planned adaptation of Perry Mason

Paul Feig has decided not to direct Bridget Jones 3.  It seems as though it was because of creative differences, but who knows for sure.  No word yet on who will replace him.

The Lady has a new trailer.  Still looks like a good flick.

Sony is reportedly trying to buy the rights to the creatively titled Steve Jobs biography, Steve Jobs.

Tom Cruise will star in Doug Liman's We Are Mortals, which is said to be about a soldier who keeps living out his death Groundhog Day-style.

Puss In Boots doesn't look terrible to me, but there's certainly a chance it will be.  Check out the latest trailer.

Alex Sokolow and Joel Cohen (both scripted Toy Story) are said to be working on a Farmville adaptation.

Universal is said to be looking at adding Jason Statham to the Fast And Furious series and then shooting the sixth and seventh entries back to back.

I'm not a big fan of Michelle Williams, but I'll probably still see My Week With Marilyn.  Here's the trailer.
