Burgeoning out of Bergen, Young Dreams is a fresh collective casing enough members for me to stop counting, and when a group’s that large, I know I’m set for a good time. The orchestral hodgepodge crafts gorgeous pop that bursts with youth, and from handclaps to harmonies, they’ve got me well content with all the things I love. Young Dreams rolled in earlier this year with a self-titled track that’s perfectly effortless in sounding like the best of your summer daydreams. Young Dreams sets up with a gentle guitar riff that vanguards a fleeting, featherlight track that’ll just rob you of your breath down to the harmonized chorus proclaiming the motto of lost youth - "We’ll live forever." Plenty of harmonies against a light, summery soundtrack have me looking to this group as - and I know this’ll sound odd - a lo-fi, modern, Norwegian Beach Boys. Though tracks from this group’s songbook are sinfully sparse, the release of two singles within their first year of formation show that the troupe are well on their way to quelling our needs soon enough.
