Movie News
Rundown
Because of
what's assumed to be scheduling issues, Kevin Costner has
dropped out of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
He will be replaced by Kurt Russell.
Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) will direct
Everest for Sony. The movie will be based on
George Mallory and his three attempts to climb the mountain
in the 1920s.
John Dies At The End looks bizarre. I like it.

Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken will star
in Seven Psychopaths. The film is said to
follow a writer who gets involved with a couple of petty
criminals so that he can have material for his latest
script. Martin McDonagh (In Bruges) will
direct.
I didn't catch Human Centipede 2 at Fantastic Fest,
but I did hear it got mixed reactions. Here's the full

Warner Bros. reportedly would like Steven Spielberg to
direct Gods And Kings, which is about the life of
Moses.
Speaking of Warner Bros., they also picked up a script from
Warrior director Gavin O'Connor titled Samurai.
Who needs action? You do. Here's the
trailer for Contraband.
And in one other bit of Warner Bros news, the studio is
reportedly seeking either Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay or
Alfonso Cuaron to direct a Twilight Zone movie.
Rooney Mara (The Social Network) is said to be up for
a role in the Oldboy remake.
Like Human Centipede 2, I heard that Paranormal
Activity 3 received mixed reactions at Fantastic Fest.

Lionsgate has bought the rights to make a movie based on the
zombie game Dead Island.
Steve Carell has been offered the lead role in Foxcatcher.
The movie would be based on the schizophrenic John du Pont,
who murdered someone in the mid-90s.
Kevin Tancharoen, who directed the web series Mortal
Kombat: Legacy, has been hired to reboot the franchise
on the big screen.
Girl With A Dragon Tattoo finally got a full
trailer. Watch it!
Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page will star in the
eco-thriller The East.
Patty Jenkins (Monster) is reported to be in the
running to direct Thor 2.
1911 Revolution could be good. Check out the
teaser.
Eric Bana may star in the heist flick Brilliant.
It's said to follow a small time crook who teams up with
some more experienced thieves to steal diamonds.
Is it just me, or does J. Edgar look woefully boring?

Horizon. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron:
Legacy), the film stars Tom Cruise as one of the last
men on a toxic Earth.
