Today's Quick Mention:  You could stay in or catch something else tonight, but the only thing I feel worthy of recommending is the Future Islands and the Sour Notes show that's going down at the Mohawk.  Tickets are $11.  Doors are at 7:30pm.

I've been a rather big supporter of Yellow Ostrich this year, so I suppose it's only fitting that my last "regular" post of 2011 features them.  Below you'll find a brand new track.  My guess, which may or may not totally stem from personal preferences, is that you'll soon be able to find it on some sort of full length follow-up to The Mistress.  Enjoy.

:Yellow Ostrich - Til I Disappear:  Much of The Mistress is made up of a warm fuzzy sound that features a slew of quirky vocal loops.  That isn't really present at all in this fairly straight forward piece of indie rock.  To be honest, their streamlining of things caught me off guard, but I really dig this track and I'll just go on assuming that some of the aforementioned craftiness will still have a small role on whatever comes next.
