Once again Fun Fun Fun Fest is here, and I’m more than ready. Below you’ll find 10 bands that should be on your list of stuff to check out for at least a minute. By the way, I’m assuming you already know to catch bigger acts like Slayer, Ted Leo, Spoon, Tune Yards, etc., so I didn’t bother going over any of those. Enjoy.

PS - Tickets for the festival are still available. Get on that already.

- 10 Bands You Should See -

:Purity Ring - Belispeak:  Acts that pack a variety of heavy electronics and FX don’t always translate to the open air of a festival, but I’m really hoping that Purity Ring will figure out a way to make their rather crafty sound work. If they don’t, I’ll briefly be sad. See them Saturday on the Blue Stage at 1:30pm.

:Lemuria - Pants:  I wasn’t even aware that these guys had a new album (it’s called Pebble), so I’ll be showing up for their set to just catch a glimpse of what’s on it. Aside from that, they do 90s style pop rock, and that’s just something you know you could use more of in your life. See them Sunday on the Orange Stage at 12:45pm.

:Ocote Soul Sound - Pirata:  The guys at FFF Fest brought in the Budos Band, and that should give you your soul fix. So why list Ocote Soul Sound as a recommendation? Because they’re really good, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with a double dose of glorious soul music. See them Friday on the Orange Stage at 3:05pm.

:Black Milk - Welcome (Gotta Go):  Of all the acts listed here, this is the one I’m most excited to see. Mainly because I can’t figure out if this hip hop wonder is going to be electric on stage or just a giant mess. I’m hoping (obviously) for the former. See him Friday on the Blue Stage at 2:45pm.

:Yacht - Dystopia:  Most of you are probably well aware of Yacht and have seen them numerous times. Still, they’re a fun experience live and they seem to be flying below the radar these days, so I wanted to give them a mention. See them Friday on the Blue Stage at 4:15pm.

:Future Islands - Before The Bridge:  Over the last few months I’ve really grown to like the dramatic pop tracks that this band churns out, and because of that I’m now eager to see how they are live. I imagine it will at least be interesting. See them Saturday on the Orange Stage at 1:20pm.

:The Joy Formidable - Whirring After SXSW I couldn’t find a single person that didn’t want to rave about this act in some way or another, so I’m thinking it’s time to finally see them on a stage. I expect a rocking good time. See them Saturday on the Orange Stage at 3:15pm.

:Mind Spiders - No Romance:  I’ve been listening to this Denton-based indie rock outfit for seemingly forever, and I’ve yet to see them play. This crazy circumstance ends at FFF Fest. I honestly can’t wait to see how it goes. See them Friday on the Black Stage at 1:30pm.

:Le Butcherettes - New York:  I saw this band at SXSW, and it was just about the most fun set I experienced over that entire week. If I’m right, they’ll step things up for what will surely be a raucous crowd at FFF Fest. See them Sunday on the Orange Stage at 1:20pm.

:Baths - Aminals:  Where I'm curious if the electronic wizardy of Purity Ring will work in a festival setting, I'm actually rather confident that Baths will knock it out of the park. His stuff is a bit simpler and seems like it will play great with nothing but a loud volume pushing it. See him Sunday on the Blue Stage at 6pm.
