Today's Quick Mention:  Tonight I'll be attending a screening of The Hangover: Part 2.  It could be good.  Maybe even great.  Or possibly just really terrible.  At any rate, while you wait for me to tell you whether the movie is worth seeing or not, I recommend heading down to the Mohawk for Tristen and Elaine Greer (she's also in the Sour Notes).  Tix are $9 at the door.  Show starts at 10pm.

For those who you who didn't get raptured, here's five songs.  Enjoy.

:Moonface - Fast Peter:  A sprawling eight minutes of music that might be the most interesting composition I've come across in a good while?  Yeah, that definitely sounds like something Spencer Krug (of Sunset Rubdown and Wolf Parade fame) would create, and I'd like to hear more.  Guess I will when Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I'd Hoped is released August 2 via Jagjaguwar.

:Chrome Canyon - Branches:  I really can't say I've been overly curious about what the various members of Apes And Androids have been up to since their split in 2009, but that doesn't mean it isn't nice to see that Morgan Z is still around and kicking.  He'll put out an album titled Elemental Themes later this summer, and judging just by this electronic gem, it seems as though it'll be a good one.

:Doctors And Dealers - All I Ever Told You Were Lies:  Late last year this Swedish act released an EP titled Trouble, and now they're ready to follow it up with a full length that's supposedly inspired by the idea of "Chicago, if it were directed by Tim Burton."  I think I get what that means, and you will too after listening to this rather dramatic pop song.  Every Sinner Has A Future is due June 28 on Bluesong Records.

:Bon Iver - Calgary:  Took me a week longer than the rest of the world, but I think I've finally come around on this track.  If you've somehow managed to not listen to it, I highly advise that you do so alone and with a good pair of headphones.  Justin Vernon does not make music that's meant to be experienced while other humans are within 500 feet of you.  Also, maybe grab some box wine.  Bon Iver, Bon Iver is due June 21 via Jagjaguwar.

:Glorie - Full Circle:  Just like Chrome Canyon, this act is lead by someone who has been out of the music scene for a good while.  Only, his name is Jason Paxton (formerly of Satyrs), and he's been on hiatus for a whopping eight years.  He's still got it though, as you'll see in this great piece of instrumental rock.  Makeshift Music released Glorie's self titled debut last week.  Get it.
