Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

Rob Marshall (Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) has been hired as the director of the Thin Man remake.  Johnny Depp will star.

I still don't know what to think about Cars 2.  Here's the new trailer.

Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent have signed on to appear next to Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in the Wachowski's Cloud Atlas.

Horrible Bosses will hopefully be hilarious.  Check out the trailer.

Rachel Weisz is reportedly close to starring opposite Jeremy Renner in The Bourne Legacy.

Jack Black will star in Bailout.  The comedy will follow a guy trying to recover from being financially ruined.

Darren Aronofsky may direct Human Nature.  George Clooney is already attached to star in the movie, which would deal with a man who wakes up from cryo-sleep and finds that humans are now pets.

The new trailer for Real Steel could not be cheesier.

Woody Harrelson has been cast as Haymitch in the highly anticipated Hunger Games adaptation.

Cillian Murphy may star in Wayfaring Strangers.  It's said to follow a paratrooper who gets caught by German soldiers during WWII and ends up in a house where a young Jewish couple are hiding.

Chris Hemsworth is still said to be considering a role in Snow White And The Huntsman.

Guillermo Del Toro has cast Charlie Hunnam (Sons Of Anarchy) as the lead in Pacific Rim.  The film is said to be about giant robots that have been built to fight off an alien race.

I'm not entirely sure what The Future is about.  Check out the trailer.

Rumor has it that Jean-Claude Van Damme will be the villain in Expendables 2.

Steven Soderbergh is seriously going to be make a movie based on Channing Tatum's stripper days.  It's going to be titled Magic Mike and will star Alex Pettyfer.

The first trailer for the Fright Night remake is pretty fun.  Could be a good movie.

Sean Penn and Christian Bale may team up for The Last Photograph.  Dane Niels Arden Oplev (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) would direct the movie about a soldier who contacts a photojournalist to help him find the men who murdered his brother's family.

F. Gary Gray will direct Sam Worthington in The Last Days Of American Crime, which is said to be about a group of people trying to commit a heist before a crime-erasing technology is implemented by the government.

Ron Howard's Dark Tower adaptation has been officially delayed so that the script can undergo rewrites in order to bring the budget down.

Time to get intense.  It's the trailer for Straw Dogs.

Colin Firth and Emily Blunt will be teaming up for an untitled black comedy.  The movie is said to be about two people who break into people's homes and assume their identities.

So, there's a trailer for Final Destination 5.  Do you care?
