Williams. See a show or two. Details can

And now to end this silly week. Enjoy.
:Sam
Roberts Band - Longitude (Featuring Elizabeth Powell):
Because of my love for Elizabeth Powell's work in Land Of
Talk, I knew that no matter what I'd figure out a way to
like this track. Fortunately though, I didn't have to
exert much effort since it's a great piece of pop even
without Powell's vocal support. Collider is
Sam's new full length, and it's coming out Tuesday via Zoe/Rounder
Records.

Antlers - Summer Solstice:
I never know what to expect from these guys. Sometimes
they're really good, and then there are other moments where
it seems necessary to not bother listening. This
(obviously, since I'm sharing it) falls into the "approved"
category by way of a well layered arrangement and subdued
vocals. Two Way Mirror is due out July 12 via
Recreation LTD.

- Wildfire (Featuring Little Dragon):
This masked artist got a nice bit of attention last year,
but it wasn't until I heard this song that I felt the need
to really pay attention. I love the big, playful beat,
and the vocal contribution from Little Dragon is nearly
perfect. It's definitely a great summer track.
The guy's self titled debut is expected June 28 via Young
Turks.

Soul Sounds - Pirata:
Aside from the new Charles Bradley LP that came out earlier
this year, there's hasn't been much soul music coming across
my desk. So, way to show up when needed, Ocote Soul
Sound. I expect that all of you will find yourself
digging on this very dance-worthy instrumental tune.
The band will release Taurus on June 7 through ESL
Music.
:David
Bazan - Wolves At The Door:
I love David Bazan. He's such a good songwriter that I
don't really care at all if his music is actually catchy or
accessible in any way, I just want to hear whatever it is
he's brooding about. On May 24 he'll release a new
full length titled Strange Negotiations via Barsuk.
I think it'll be another interesting entry in his expansive
catalog.
