For the
sake of not having to write the same intro a million
different ways throughout the rest of time, just know that
this column avoids the overly long and sometimes dull
process of full film reviews and instead opts to break
things down based on what I thought going in, what happened
while I was there and what I learned at the end of it all.
Hope that's OK.

The
Breakdown - Thor
The Impression:
Marvel continues the most expensive marketing plan ever by
releasing another superhero standalone flick meant to get
you excited for the Avengers.
The Reality:
Of all the pre-Avengers movies that have come out so
far, Thor is just behind the first Iron Man as
my favorite. Everything about the film just works -
the plot, the villains, the FX, Kenneth Branagh's direction
and, most importantly, Chris Hemsworth. That guy is a
star in the making who exudes so much charisma on screen
that I can't wait to see how he'll mix with the likes of
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. Whether you're a
fan of the character or not, I promise it's worth your time
to see Thor.
By the way, don't bother seeing it in 3D. Like is
usually the case with post-converted 3D movies, it's dark
and not worth the upcharge.
The Lesson:
Ok, so it's definitely more than just a marketing plan.
