Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

Viggo Mortensen has stopped pursuing a role in Snow White And The Huntsman.  Some think it's because he may be close to signing on to play the villain in the Superman reboot.

I adore the new trailer for Captain America.  Seriously, the movie looks great.

Juno Temple and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have officially joined the cast for The Dark Knight Rises.  No word yet on exactly what their roles are.

James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) has signed on to pen the first draft for a sequel to the currently unreleased Amazing Spider-Man.

The Three Musketeers looks slick, but not good.  Check out the trailer.

Paul Giamatti and Amy Adams are considering joining the cast for Rock Of Ages.

Benicio Del Toro may join Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch in the adaptation of Savages.  The book follows two men trying to get back their friend/lover from a Mexican drug cartel.

Henry's Crime might turn out OK.  Here's the trailer.

Kate Bosworth, Eva Green, Paula Patton, Eva Mendes and Jessica Biel are said to be up for two different female roles in the upcoming Total Recall remake.

David O. Russell recently said he would be interested in writing a script for The Fighter 2.

Wrecked has a new trailer.  Still looks like a solid flick.

David Fincher is reportedly Sony Picture's next choice to direct their Cleopatra biopic.  James Cameron and Paul Greengrass were previously attached.  Angelina Jolie is still attached to star.

Mila Kunis will officially join James Franco in OZ, The Great And Powerful.

There's something off about Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  None of the trailers have been particularly great.  Anyhow, here's a new one.

Alan Rickman will be joining Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth in the Coen Brothers-scripted Gambit remake.

Will Smith and Denzel Washington may team up for a remake of the 1974 buddy comedy Uptown Saturday Night.  The original followed two friends who realize that one of their stolen wallets contains a winning lotto ticket.

Check out the new trailer for The Bang Bang Club.  Not sure what I think of it.

Disney is apparently looking at adapting Peter And The Starcatchers.  The children's novel follows an orphan named Peter on an adventure to keep a secret safe.

The fourth Chronicles Of Narnia film will be an adaptation of Magician's Nephew.  This is actually the sixth book in the series and is said to serve as somewhat of a prequel to the other movies.

The Silent House trailer is somewhat creepy.  See it here.

A script for National Treasure 3 is currently being written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

Because Mars Needs Moms bombed at the box office, Robert Zemeckis' Yellow Submarine remake has been canned.

50 Cent is still giving acting a go.  Oh well.  Here's the trailer for Setup.

Tom Hanks has signed on to star in a currently untitled film based on the true story of Captain Richard Phillips, who was kidnapped in 2009 by Somali pirates.

Your Highness is almost guaranteed to be the most ridiculous movie of the year.  Here's the new trailer.

Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) will play the lead female role in the adaptation of Hunger Games.  She's also signed on for the two other books in the trilogy.

The new trailer for Super 8 is really cool.  Can't wait to see the movie.

Darren Aronofsky has has decided not to direct The Wolverine because of scheduling concerns. Apparently he would have to be in Japan and away from his family for nearly a year.

Great Movie Ever Sold has a new trailer.  I saw the movie at SXSW and found it to be pretty good.
