Today's Quick Mention:  A couple of solid shows are available for you to check out tonight.  Oh No Oh My are at the Continental Club, and Noah And The Whale are playing the Parish.  Or, and this is if you're up for a movie, you could go down to the Violet Crown and catch the excellent Incendies.

Pavement is one of my favorite bands of all time, so I'm sure it's not the least bit surprising that I have an interest in anything that carries the name of Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks.  How could I not?  Anyhow, the group is all set to put out a Beck-produced effort through Matador titled Mirror Traffic, and I'm sure it will be fantastic.  Enjoy.

:Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks - Senator:  Malkmus has churned out a few Pavement-esque tracks on previous efforts, but this is so like his former band that they could re-reform, toss it in their set and most people wouldn't notice that it's not something they created all those years ago.  This, of course, is far from a bad thing, and I'm actually hoping there's a few more like it on the upcoming LP.
