Today's Quick Mention:  If you do anything tonight it should be in some way related to Leatherbag.  Catch them either at Waterloo Records at 5pm, or head to Skinny Ballroom around 10pm for their show with RTB2 and The Wolf.

I noticed I had double digit tracks I'd like to share before the end of the week, so here's a rare Thursday five-songer.  Enjoy.

:St. Vincent - Surgeon:  I absolutely adore anything that Annie Clark is even remotely involved in, so to say I'm really fucking excited for her new LP would be an understatement.  This also means I have no objectivity when it comes to this track.  I hear brilliance.  You may hear nothing but trash.  I honestly can't say which, and it's because it carries the St. Vincent moniker.  Sorry.  Strange Mercy is due September 13 via 4AD.

:Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Maniac:  After hearing Same Mistake and now this track, I think CYHSY have fully shifted to the well produced, mainstream side of the indie world.  I don't suppose there's anything wrong with that, but I do imagine that it's going to rub some longtime fans the wrong way.  Hysterical is due all over the place on September 12 via V2.

:TV Girl - Baby You Were There:  I think that with this summer gem (that's somehow only a minute and a half long) these guys have officially become great at crafting infectious music.  Everything they do gets stuck in my head for seemingly an eternity.  It's ridiculous.  Don't they know how busy I am?  Anyhow, you can get the Benny And The Jets EP right now for free over at Facebook.  Do it.

:Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks - Tigers:  Senator was the first track released off of Malkmus' new album, and it was a rather Pavement-esque effort.  And this?  Well, it still has a vibe that's similar to his old band, but there's more here that sounds like the solo artist everyone has come to know.  The one and only Matador will release Mirror Traffic on August 23.

:Eternal Summers - On My Honor:  This band seems forever bent on only churning out stuff that's warm, fuzzy and easy on the ears.  That's OK with me.  But only because they're really good at it.  This track is off of The Mystic Fortress Sessions: Volume 1 split 7" that the band recently recorded with Super Vacations.  It will be available next month via Funny Not Funny.
