Today's Quick Mention:  There's nothing show-wise that I'd be willing to leave the house for tonight, so my recommendation to you is to just stay inside.  That's right, no going anywhere.  Just sit at home and soak up the last few weeks of your Netflix subscription before it jumps up in price.

I've been waiting and waiting for Cymbals Eat Guitars to release a single for their upcoming sophomore effort, and it finally happened.  Rejoice!  And then immediately download and treasure the track below.  A couple of months back the band signed to Barsuk, so that's the label that will release Lenses Alien on August 30.  Enjoy.

:Cymbals Eat Guitars - Rifle Eyesight (Proper Name):  There are plenty of "long" songs on their last effort, Why There Are Mountains, so this being eight and half minutes isn't necessarily a surprise.  With that being said, it is a bold choice to serve up as the first taste off the new album.  Sure, I adore this track and all of its sonic shifts, but will newcomers get it?  I hope so, because the band is great and deserving of a bigger audience.
