Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

Louis Leterrier will direct Now You See Me.  The movie will follow a group of bank robbing illusionists who are on the run from the FBI.

Thor continues to look better and better.  Check out the new trailer.

Noah Oppenheim (Jackie) has been hired to pen the adaptation of The Secret Life Of Houdini: The World's First Superhero.  Supposedly, the movie will be more of an action thriller and not a biopic.

Steve Kloves, who wrote all of the Harry Potter movies, has been hired to write a script for a live action version of Akira.

The red band trailer for Hall Pass is actually really funny.

Jaume Collett -Serra (Unknown) will direct a remake of Le Cercle Rouge.  The new film will be called Red Circle.

Guillermo Del Toro, the Jim Henson Company and Pathe are apparently in the middle of working on a stop-motion Pinocchio film.

Apollo 18 looks like it might be really neat.  See the trailer.

Mila Kunis has joined the cast of Oz, The Great And Powerful.

Circo looks like a great documentary.  Check out the trailer.

Shane Black is in final negotiations to direct Iron Man 3.

Richard Kelly will direct Corpus Christi.  The movie will follow a mentally unstable war veteran who enters a strange relationship with his chain store-owning boss.

The new trailer for Insidious is well done.  I kind of want to check out the movie now.

Matthew Vaughn recently said that he would like to do an adaptation of The Golden Age.  The comic deals with an older group of superheroes who are trying to help their grandchildren.

Universal is reportedly thinking about bringing in Justin Lin (from the last three Fast And Furious movies) to direct a new Terminator entry.

The Double Hour has a new trailer.  Looks like a good one.

Sherlock Holmes 2 will actually be called Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows.

Uncle Boonme Who Can Recall His Past Lives will probably be very weird.  See the trailer.

Warner Bros has reportedly offered Guy Ritchie the opportunity to direct the 300-prequel Xerses.

Ice Cube has joined the cast of 21 Jump Street.

Certified Copy looks as though it will have nothing but blabbering.  See the trailer.

The Amazing Spider-Man.  That's the official title for Marc Webb's upcoming reboot.

Mars Needs Moms.  It actually exists.  Sorry.  Check out the trailer.

Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) will star in The Forgotten.  The movie follows a girl who has her memory erased every night and can only remember things from her future.  Or something.

The trailer for I Saw The Devil is twisted and awesome.  Can't wait to see the movie.

The Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt comedy I'm With Cancer is now titled 50/50.

Something Borrowed could look a little more generic ... if it wanted.  The trailer.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will team up again for The Wolf Of Wall Street.  The film would revolve around a stockbroker and his scandalous rise to the top.  First though, Scorsese will direct Silence, which is about priests in 17th century Japan who are trying to track down their mentor.

There Be Dragons is a goofy name, but the movie looks solid.  See the trailer.

Michel Gondry will reportedly direct an adaptation of the Philip K Dick story Ubik.

11-11-11 looks a bit silly.  Check out the new teaser.
