Despite holding
a name that ushers in imagery of huge pachyderms stomping
about in line, Elephant Parade is very hushed, very subdued
and ... small. Aside from the occasional acoustic guitar,
Elephant Parade is, quite simply, a boy, a girl and their
keyboard. Sitting shoulder to shoulder at their Casio, Ido
and Estelle daintily stream ethereal, dreamy pop that wraps
around you like a good blanket. Warm, cozy - Elephant Parade
whispers to you a lullaby and rock you about to some
bumbling notes; it’s incredibly comforting. Bared,
simplistic tunage carried by hushed, pacified vocals all
recorded in their bedroom made their self-released debut
album, Bedroom Recordings, an appropriately-titled
lo-fi dream. Now, five years later, Elephant Parade have
returned with the release of Home. While carrying an
even greater pop influence, Home is still the simple,
bedroom-recorded product of the couple that only wanted to
help make sure you found your way to your dreams easily.
