Today's Quick Mention:  I know the White Stripes hadn't exactly done anything in a long time, but I think I really liked the idea that they'd randomly go on a mini-tour or put out an EP.  Now, that's all gone.  Oh well.  Perhaps I can use it as an excuse to make an awesome White Stripes mix.

Because it wouldn't be right to only have the Vivian Girls come out with a new album in early 2011, the Dum Dum Girls have arranged an EP for the fuzzy-music-loving part of your brain.  Below is the first single, so take a listen and then prep yourself for March 1, which is when Sub Pop will place He Gets Me High on store shelves everywhere. Enjoy.

:Dum Dum Girls - He Gets Me High:  Before I hit play I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Dum Dum Girls to come back with more fuzz or to clean up their sound a bit like the Vivian Girls did on their new single.  And?  Well, I still don't have a clue what I prefer, but I do know this retro-pop gem has the right amount of everything.  If you haven't already, you should really get used to hearing this band's name.
