Today's Quick Mention:  I know that yesterday I recommended Deerhoof at the Mohawk as your activity for tonight, but that was before I realized it was going to be really freaking cold.  Perhaps see a movie instead.  I say get some kung fu in with Ip-Man 2.

While the new Fleet Foxes track had the world pledging to buy an orchard and then work until they're sore, I was actually more fixated on the the first single off the upcoming Vivian Girls album.  Ridiculous?  I don't think so.  But I'm also a tiny bit crazy.  Anyhow, the all-girl group will put out Share The Joy on April 12 via the always great Polyvinyl.  Enjoy.

:Vivian Girls - I Heard You Say:  On occasion I've felt as though the Vivian Girls have been too fuzzed out for their own good, so I'm happy to see them return with a track that's borderline slick.  Or, at least as slick as the term "garage-pop" will allow.  Hope the new LP has more of the same.  Also, I just realized I've never seen them play, which means I should probably commit to catching them and the Black Lips at Emo's on April 28.
