Today's Quick Mention: There's a couple
of nice shows that you should consider checking out
tonight. The first features Mister Heavenly
and Waters at the Mohawk, and the other is
Leatherbag, Church Shoes, and Ricky Stein at Hole In
The Wall. If you can, clone yourself and do
both.
After becoming rather impatient while waiting for
one, I was finally able to stumble across an mp3 of
the song from the new St. Vincent video.
Victory! It awaits you below, and I can now
rest easy. Annie Clark's sure-to-be-awesome
third full length is titled Strange Mercy,
and it's due out on September 13
via 4AD.

Like all things that come from the brain of Annie Clark,
this is a well-honed mix of weird. Her voice is
beautiful, but they lyrics aren't. And the music?
Yeah, it mainly makes me want to throw on my most hipster
attire and dance around in a really cool bar you've never
heard of. These things really shouldn't work together,
but somehow she pulls it off, and I can't get enough.
