Today's Quick Mention: My plan for
tonight is to catch a screening of A Horrible Way
To Die, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't head
over to Emo's for DNTEL, The One AM Radio and Geotic. Doors are at 9pm. Tix are $12.
A few years back I watched a cute girl sit behind a
drum kit and straight up wail into a headset as she
lead one of the more fun acts I'd seen in a while.
They were called Grand Ole Party, and her name was
Kirsten Gundred. Now the band is gone, and
she's known as Dee Dee (of the Dum Dum Girls).
Fortunately for us all though, the trio did put
together one last effort
titled Under Our Skin,
and it's getting posthumously released next week via
DH Records. Enjoy.

Ole Party - All Night:
This song did two things for me. First of all, it
reminded of the effortless chemistry that Kirsten, John Paul
Labno and Mike Krechnyak had together. Secondly, it
made me greatly miss the three of them. They were a
lot of fun, and I'm definitely bummed out that I have a zero
chance of ever seeing the "new" stuff performed live.
Who wants to hold me?
