Today's Quick Mention: Tame Impala have
announced that they'll be dropping by Austin later
this year, and I'm excited. Inner Speaker
is a great album and the fuzzy sound that Emo's
usually generates is actually a pretty good fit for
a band like this. The show will be December 1.

I've been super slow in coming around on some
Warpaint support and, for that, I apologize.
They're really good, and I'm definitely anxious to
see how their upcoming full length will play out.
Fools isn't due to be released by Rough Trade
until October 25, but we can probably expect to hear
most of it when the band opens for Sonic Youth at La
Zona Rosa on October 9. Enjoy.

It's sort of amazing how much this reminds me of Metric.
Not necessarily the recent full on pop version, of course,
but the earlier efforts from the Canadian act that were very
simple pop compositions coupled with great songwriting.
Hopefully, Fools has more of the same, or I may end
up stuck with this gem on repeat for the rest of the year.
