So apparently
at some point, this particular artist was vouched for and
posted on by Perez Hilton. YES, I’m essentially
piggybacking Perez Hilton’s find, and piggybacking, Lord
knows, is the last thing I want to do regarding Perez.
I’m not really sure how I feel about all that, but at the
end of the day, that’s just how much I like this songwriter
- not even the gossip-mongering mouth of Perez can
keep me away.
This bright-eyed, curly-haired young lady is Jose Vanders,
and there’s a reason why her YouTubage gets related links to
Charlie Bit My Finger. Simply enough, Vanders is
adorable. Having independently released various EPs at
the ages of 17, 18, and 19, Vanders, now 20, is yet another
British prodigal child of music. With a wide
instrumental repertoire that has her songs furnished by
"anything that makes a noise," Vanders has been playing some
sort of instrument since the age of three. Vanders
paints folksy tunes to her sweet, storybook lyrics, songs
that, with words like "crocodiley", at times seems like she
simply melodically tuned the cutesy ramblings of a
preschooler’s daydream. With such a talent for melody
and her youth at play, Vanders has joined ranks among female
folk artists by working an image that strikes of
instrumental classicism and girlish spunk. It’s no
wonder that Vanders has gone about touring in the company of
artists like Noah & The Whale and VV Brown.
