Today's Quick Mention:  Looks like The Dismemberment Plan are back.  They've decided to do a quick jaunt down the East Coast early next year, and Barsuk has announced that they'll be reissuing Emergency And I as a snazzy double LP on January 11.  Hooray for reunions!

It's not as though they need to be replaced or that there aren't enough fuzzy pop acts in the world, but the next Dum Dum Girls is definitely going to be the Costa Rican-based Las Robertas.  Cry Out Loud, which is the all-girl group's debut, carries the name of producer Jon Greene (DDG, Crocodiles, Muslims) on it and is due October 12 on Art Fag Recordings.  Enjoy.

:Las Robertas - Back To The End:  It's not easy to stand out in the super trendy and overly crowded realm of fuzzy pop, and yet these ladies make it seem sort of effortless.  Yes, they're good at crafting the kind of songs that fans of the genre can really appreciate, but I think what allows them to excel is the cool and confident attitude that oozes through their music.  You should jump on this bandwagon now.
