Today's Quick Mention: Autolux is at
Emo's tonight! I won't be able to go because
of an event that I have really early tomorrow, but
this shouldn't stop you from attending and having a
blast. Gold Panda and Pure Esctasy will kick
things off. Doors are at 9pm. Tix are
$12.
While I don't necessarily agree with her rather
negative
comments
about the oh-so trendy Best Coast, I am thrilled
that Marnie Stern is back with a new album, and I
can't begin to describe how anxious I am to get my
hands on it. The self titled beast (I'm
assuming that last word will be a proper fit) will
be out October 5 on Kill Rock Stars. Enjoy.

Stern - Transparency Is The New Mystery:
Some of you won't like to hear it, but this is the second
song off the upcoming full length that doesn't feature any
wicked guitar wizardry from Marnie. Personally, I'm OK
with that, but I really like that she's branched out a bit,
slowed things down and really dove deeper into layering and
organizing her usual onslaught of sounds.
