Today's Quick Mention:  Holy crap!  So much to do this weekend.  Land Of Talk and Suuns are at the Parish tonight, tomorrow features the Austin Record Convention and White Denim at Antone's, and Sunday sees the return of Azure Ray.  Get out.  Have fun.

Let's get this weekend started.  Enjoy.

:Time New Vikings - No Room To Live:  Since way back when I first heard this band I've wondered if they would get louder or slowly tone down all of the ear-blistering noise.  And?  Well, I'm not going to say they've totally abandoned being anti-quiet, but this is a fairly calm track that's "prettier" than I would have ever guessed them capable of.  This song is from a currently tour-only 7".

:Glass Vaults - Forget Me Not:  And, here's one straight out of New Zealand.  Doesn't sound overly thrilling, I know, butt the track is very well crafted and brimming with atmosphere, so grab some headphones and then spend a chunk of quality time with it.  The Glass EP will be available on limited edition vinyl come November 1, or you can totally download it for free right now.

:Mujah Messiah - Dear God (Featuring POS):  Religious discussion, a Monsters Of Folk sample, and there's a verse from the one and only POS?  Yeah, you can count me in for that combination.  Always.  Seriously though, this is an interesting piece of hip hop.  Just know you may need your patience cap for the first couple of listens.  M-16s is currently available on Black Comers.

:Generationals - Trust:  Finally!  I've been meaning to check this band out for about a year or so now, and their new EP is just the thing I needed to get around to it.  I'd say they live up to the hype, and I'm eager to hear more of their endearing indie pop ways.  Park The Van will release the Trust EP in the near future.  Until then I'll be on the hunt for their debut, Con Law.

:Seapony - Dreaming:  First of all, I find this act to have an incredibly silly name, but I dig it.  Secondly, despite being exactly like all of the fuzzy pop tracks that have come out from everywhere in 2010, this catchy gem still manages to come off as rather adorable and fresh.  I blame the lyrics.  The Dreaming 7" is due out on November 15 and will be limited to 300 copies.  Snatch it up quick!
