Today's Quick Mention:  Unfortunately, I missed out on Phantogram and the Strokes over the last couple of days, so I'm really hoping the rest of my show shenanigans will work out a little better.  Tonight the plan is either Spoon at the Mohawk or Black Joe Lewis at Antone's.  Should be fun ... if I make either.

While I appreciate the Vivian Girls and have found a number of songs appealing, I can't say I'm as diehard about them as the rest of the world is.  Perhaps it's that so many acts carry a similar sound?  Or maybe I'm just crazy?  Either way, VG bassist Katy Goodman has a nice little side project titled La Sera, and it's really good.  Hardly will put out the Never Come Around 7" on 11/16.  Enjoy.

:La Sera - Never Come Around:  There's only two minutes worth of song here, so before you click play you should know you're going to be left wishing for more.  However, on the bright side, this is such a relaxed and beach-worthy kind of track that you won't mind if it stays on repeat for the better part of your day (or at least while you browse the other fine posts here at SOTO).
