Today's Quick Mention: Don't forget
that Phantogram and Josiah Wolf are playing the
Mohawk tonight. Both acts have put out really
good albums this year, so that should make
for a show that's can't-miss. Doors at 8pm.
Tickets are only $12.
I didn't think there were any established local
bands
that I wasn't aware of, but over the last week or so
I've learned about two. The first is Dexter Freebish, which made me think of the bad music I
liked in high school, and the other is Masonic,
who've been kicking for about a DECADE. Wow.
Anyhow, their new LP is titled Live Like A
Millionaire, and it's available now on
iTunes.
Enjoy.

- Lifetime Of Deception:
This is an amazingly great track, and I honestly kind of
feel ridiculous that I didn't know about it sooner.
Expect to feel the need to agree with me if you've ever
liked anything that harkens back to the indie rock/pop of
the 90s (could also be construed as the glory years).
Now, I just need to find out the next time they're playing
in Austin.
