Today's Quick Mention: Before I get
distracted by year-end lists I want to make sure to
recommend two shows in December. The first is
Tame Impala at Emo's on 12/1, and the other is the
Octopus Project on 12/3 at East Side Drive-In.
Be there. Or not. It's whatever.
After sharing nearly 500 tracks over the last 11
months, I'm bringing my 2010 music ramblings at SOTO
to a close with a very awesome new single from the
veteran UK act known as Mogwai. Sub Pop will
place Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will
on store shelves February 15. You should
probably buy it for the amazing title alone.

Sure, the band has been louder and more epic on previous
efforts, but I can't help but love how confident and well
crafted this is. Plus, and I suppose this is most
important anyway, it just sounds really cool.
Throw on some headphones or crank the volume and let it fill
the room. Either way, you're going to find yourself
entertained and ready for more.
