Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

There's a new Tron Legacy trailer.  Rejoice.

Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Mark Wahlberg are all rumored to have parts in David O. Russell's adaptation of the game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein have signed on to direct Underworld 4.

Battle For Los Angeles.  Check out the snazzy new trailer.

The rumor that Zak Efron has been chosen for the lead role in the live action Akira is now being reported as false.

Paul Giamatti has joined the cast of The Hangover 2.

Season Of The Witch has a new trailer.  I guess it might be entertaining.

Natalie Portman has reportedly written a raunchy comedy titled BYO but is having a hard time finding a studio to pick it up.

Jim Carrey is now saying he dropped out of the Three Stooges movie because he didn't feel as though he could put on the necessary weight to play Curly.

See the trailer for Barney's Version.  Looks solid.

Working Title is looking at make making a Merlin movie.  It would be set in modern times.

Jeremy Renner was rumored to be starring in the Escape From New York remake, but now that is being reported as not true.

There's a new Winnie The Pooh movie, and it has a surprisingly dramatic trailer.

Jon Favreau will direct The Magic Kingdom.  The movie is said to be about the theme park coming to life.

Kung Fu Panda 2 now has a teaser.  I liked the first, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Zooey Deschanel has reportedly been offered the role of Betty Brant in the Spider-Man reboot.

The Eagle looks bad.  See the trailer.

Channing Tatum is being rumored as a choice for a lead role in 21 Jump Street.  He would star along side Jonah Hill, who also wrote the script.

Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Hayden Church, Elle Fanning and Patrick Fugit will all appear in Cameron Crowe's We Bought A Zoo.  The movie is about a father who uproots his family after he buys a zoo.

The new Sucker Punch trailer is incredibly cool looking.

Javier Bardem, Sam Worthington and James Franco may appear in Jonathan Liebsman's Wrath Of The Titans.  No word yet on the plot.

The Avengers movie is rumored to be nearing a delay because of budget issues.

Need a standard romantic comedy?  Friends With Benefits has a new trailer.  Oh wait.  There's one more.  It's called the trailer for No Strings Attached.   Just kidding, that's not all.  You can also see the trailer for Just Go With It.  These things are everywhere.

On the bright side, at least none of those flicks equal the shittiness that is the trailer for Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.

Naomi Watts, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, Blake Lively. Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley are all being rumored as possible choices for either of the two lead female roles (one a villain, the other a love interest) in The Dark Knight Rises.

Hall Pass, it'll either be hilarious or terrible.  See the trailer.

Carey Mulligan may star in Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of the Great Gatsby.

Roland Emmerich's The Zone, which was reportedly going to be made for less than 5 million, has been canceled.

Can't wait to see The Illusionist.  Check out the trailer.

Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks will star in Welcome To The People.  The movie follows a guy who has to deliver an inheritance to the sister he never knew he had.

Rachel McAdams said she's not sure if she'll be in Sherlock Holmes 2.
