And here you go, the end of my Fun Fun Fun Fest recap.  Expect the normal combination of pictures, words and music.  Also, just so you know, regularly scheduled SOTO content kicks back up tomorrow.  Enjoy.

Fun Fun Fun Fest - Day 3 Review

Margot And The Nuclear So And Sos

I doubt these indie rocks won over anyone that wasn't already there to see them, but I thought they had a nice set.  Although, that could partly be driven by the fact that they seemed annoyed to be playing, which made every note seem oddly inspired.

Toro Y Moi

Toro y Moi's album is something that I can only listen to if I'm in a particular mood.  It's just too hazy and all of the songs run together.  Live?  Well, that's a whole other story.  Everything they do has more kick and is actually pretty fun.  I'd love to see this band in a more appropriate setting (the park in the afternoon sun isn't exactly ideal).

Kaki King

What a weird set.  It started with some fairly standard rock tunes (that weren't too bad), but before I knew it I was stuck in the middle of an increasingly boring string of instrumental stuff.  Where was all the fancy guitar work?  I should have went and had a hotdog during this.

Cults

I know this band was a semi-last minute addition, but I didn't expect them to wing their performance like they had been added to the lineup that morning.  Aside from the sloppiness, I did like their show and I'd definitely make an effort to see them again.  Go Outside is just too good of a song to miss live.

POS

Easily the best show I saw all weekend.  There aren't many that command a stage like POS does, and it was a real treat to stand next to him as he got every soul (even Gumby) in the pit to praise his every move.  My only complaint is that he started 20 minutes late, which meant for a shorter than expected set.

Washed Out

Boring.  That may not always be the word that people will associate with Washed Out live, but following the energetic POS and seemingly starting needlessly late didn't help them out on Sunday night.

Yelle

Having seen the Hold Steady double digit times, I decided to stay over at the Blue Stage for Yelle.  She didn't disappoint.  Or impress, for that matter.  It was an entertaining show that featured some fun sounds and a lot of awkward dancing.  I'd probably see her again.
