Today's Quick Mention: Hanson is
playing Antone's tonight. How amazingly weird
is that? Do they do all the hits that
propelled them to fame way back when? Or is it
just newer stuff? On a related note, what ever
happened to that Tyler Hanson-fronted Tinted Windows
project? So many questions ...
I thought the Acid House Kings had long broken up,
but the announcement of a new effort definitely says
otherwise. The Swedish act will put out a new
digital single (their first anything for about six years) on
December 7 via Labrador. It's called
Are We Lovers Or Are We Friends?, and if we're
lucky there will be more to follow. Enjoy.

House Kings - Are We Lovers Or Are We Friends?:
Time doesn't seem to have had much of an effect on the
band's sound, which means you can confidently click play and
expect to be warmly greeted with their usual glorious pop
ways. Hooray! Unless, of course, your only dream
is to hear the Acid House Kings rock a big, meaty guitar
riff. Then you're probably going to be a little
disappointed.
