Today's Quick Mention:  You know what I love most about Austin?  It isn't the live music scene.  It's the Alamo Drafthouse.  Case in point, tonight they're doing an Iron Man double feature, and I will be there with beer and pizza in hand.  Fantastic!  If you don't live near one, you should.

In between working and feeling bummed that last night resulted in my team losing a fifth trivia finals in a row, today I remembered that Imaad Wasif is damn good and he should be talked about more.  Tell a friend.  Or six.  But only after you selfishly rocked out to the special selection (it will soon be out on 7" via IAMSOUND) below for the next day or so.  Enjoy.

:Imaad Wasif - Ecstasy:  If there's one thing that you have to admit Imaad has going for him, it's definitely that he consistently sounds like good old classic cool.  For instance, here he slinks along, crooning about love, and he does it all to a healthy mix of chugging guitar riffs.  It's actually almost old school to a fault, but it certainly doesn't feel as tired as what so many other similar acts out there are doing.
