For the
sake of not having to write the same intro a million
different ways throughout the rest of time, just know that
this column avoids the overly long and sometimes dull
process of full film reviews and instead opts to break
things down based on what I thought going in, what happened
while I was there and what I learned at the end of it all.
Hope that's OK.

Breakdown - The Freebie
The Impression:
A married couple decide that they're cool with giving
each other one night to sleep with someone else.
The Reality:
You already know this entire movie. Couple has an
issue, they make a bold decision, they can't handle the
consequences. The end. With that being said
though, The Freebie is very well made, and that's
what makes it worth seeking out. There's some great
improvised dialogue (the movie had no actual script, just an
outline), and I loved the intimate way in which it was shot.
Katie Aselton, who does double duty as the director and
leading lady, is fantastic throughout, and that goes for Dax
Shepard as well. I never would have guessed he had
such a performance in him.
The Lesson:
Think your relationship is open, awesome and can handle
anything? It can't. So don't be an idiot and
agree to let your significant other bang someone else.
