Today's Quick Mention:  While doing a little browsing yesterday I happened to notice a couple of videos on Pitchfork that might be worth your time.  Both feature Tame Impala out in the middle of nowhere performing hazy numbers off the recently released and rather good Innerspeaker.  Check them out.

I know the new Arcade Fire singles are everywhere, but unlike the little two-songer they put out a few weeks back, I actually found myself instantly drawn in by what the web yesterday.  So why not add another thought onto the already massive pile, right?  Could be fun.  The US tune is below (hear the UK one here).  The Suburbs will be out August 3.  Enjoy.

:Arcade Fire - Ready To Start:  "Now you're knocking at my door/Saying please come out with us tonight/But I would rather be alone/Then pretend I feel all right"  It might be strange to say, but I don't think I've ever really thought of the Arcade Fire as a "pop" band.  To me they've just always been this larger than life/universally adored artsy act with a penchant for making simple songs sound like epic pieces.  Read To Start, however, is definitely altering that opinion.  It doesn't feel epic.  Hell, it's not even overly special (see Wake Up below).  But it's warm and inviting, and I'm actually excited that it'll be owning the radio waves all summer.
