Today's Quick Mention:  And just like that, I'm 27 years old!  To be honest, I'm really not much of a birthday celebrator, but if you feel the need to champion my existence for the rest of the day then I'm totally cool with that.  But, you know, only if you really want to.

Because the internet cares, over the weekend it delivered an early birthday present to me in the form of a b-side from The Morning Benders.  The track, which was cut from their most recent album, is a good one, so give it a listen and then be sure to run out and pick up Big Echo.  It is, after all, a pretty great effort (even without the number below).  Enjoy.

:The Morning Benders - Go Grab A Stranger:  I love Big Echo, but it's so warm and expansive that you have to make sure you're always paying attention or all the tracks blend together.  This though, is kind of edgy and a bit more sonically aggressive, so I think it could have provided the album a nice change of pace.  Oh well.  The thing still works well as a whole, and I'm at least happy to have an extra song from a band I've come to love.
