Today's Quick Mention: There are a lot
of good shows tonight. Kid Sister is at the
Mohawk, The Long Tangles are playing for free at the
Parlor and The Bandulus are at Flamingo Cantina.
Pick one. Or all three - if you happen to own
some sort of teleportation/time machine thingy.
Now that music Go Music has put out a full length,
Meredith Metcalf is back at work with Bodies Of
Water. This, as you surely guessed,
is a good thing. What makes it a bit better
though, is that she and the gang are really excited
about their new LP (it has no title or release date yet) so
Gorilla Vs Bear was treated to a few early tracks.

The other two songs the band released are very good, but I
have to say there's something about this little pop number
that I can't escape from. Maybe it's the retro
arrangement ... or Meredith's voice and how it's essentially
a perfect fit for this. It may even just be me really
loving that such a quick paced and upbeat song is leading me
into the weekend. Either way, this is really good, and
I can't wait to hear all of the new full length.
