Today's Quick Mention:  Just when I was feeling pretty awesome about getting the opportunity to celebrate 90s indie rock with Pavement in San Francisco later this month, The Pixies announced they'll be playing the Austin Music Hall on September 22.  I think I win.  Forever.

Antarctica Takes It! have returned.  The act has a somewhat inconvenient knack for disappearing in between incredibly catchy singles (the kind that never seem to stop playing in your head), so I'm more than thrilled to see there's an actual full length that's been readied.  Buy Constellations when How Does It Feel To Be Loved? releases it on August 2.  Enjoy.

:Antarctica Takes It! - Constellations:  Whenever I hear something from this band I get the impression they aren't exactly sure about which parts of indie pop they like the most, so they throw them all in at the same time.  Only, instead of sounding like a cluttered mess, they still end up creating gems like this one, which is spectacularly simple and as easy to love as anything you'll come across all year.  Not sure if it gets better than this.
