Today's Quick Mention:  I rarely ever look around the interview section over at Pitchfork (so you may have already seen this), but I did notice they have a nice little piece with Sleigh Bells.  Check it out here.  It just might convince you to finally pick up the wildly entertaining Treats.

While I really liked Matt Costa's oh-so-catchy single Mr. Pitiful, I haven't exactly spent the last two years wondering when the follow-up would arrive.  Still, his new effort seems to have a totally different sound and I'm quite curious about what else he's put together.  Brushfire Records is all set to release Mobile Chateau on September 21.  Enjoy.

:Matt Costa - The Season:  According to the press release, Matt wanted to make make an album that paid homage to 60s psych acts like Donovan, 13th Floor Elevators, The Zombies, Electric Prunes and The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.  This hazy gem, as you will clearly hear when you click play, is proof that he succeeded in doing so.  Honestly, I think this is the best song I've ever heard him.  Slap on headphones for it!
