Today's Quick Mention:  It would appear that Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu and Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater have teamed up for a new project titled Blue Water White Death, and I would like to hear what they've created.  Send me a track if you happen to have one tucked away somewhere!

I wouldn't say I've been anxiously waiting for something new from Ra Ra Riot, but I did brighten up a bit when I noticed a single from their upcoming LP had found its way onto the interwebs.  As usual, give it a listen below and then make a note to look for the The Orchard when the always great Barsuk delivers it to store shelves everywhere on August 24.  Enjoy.

:Ra Ra Riot - Boy:  There isn't a single thing here that the world hasn't heard from any good pop band over the last decade or so, but that doesn't mean the song isn't gem.  Because it is.  Not surprising, I suppose, since Ra Ra Riot are rather good at doing this sort of thing.  Expect a lot of involuntary humming and foot tapping while you sit around listening to this and hoping the rest of the album sounds just as relaxed and fresh.
