Today's Quick Mention:  My friends and heroes La Snacks are playing at the Mohawk tonight, and you should consider going so that you can check out some of their new material and champion their existence.  The Action Design and Zlam Dunk are opening.  Show starts at 10pm.

I'm definitely excited for the new Menomena album, but the new track that's floating around on the web has pretty much put me in a frenzy to figure out a way to get a precious copy of my own.  Hear why below.  Barsuk will release Mines on July 27, but you can stream it now in all of its glory over at NPR.  You should do it.  Enjoy.

:Menomena - TAOS:  As you may remember, the first single had an ominous and generally odd sound that either left you feeling wowed or totally unsure of what you heard.  This, however, is nothing like that, and you'll clearly see what I mean when you click play and experience what kind of comes off as Menomena meets The Black Keys.  Try not to leave it on repeat for too long.
