Today's Quick Mention:  There's some cool stuff going on this weekend.  The Mohawk is hosting Wakey Wakey tonight and Lightning Bolt and Indian Jewelry tomorrow.  You can also experience some TXRD with a bout tomorrow between the Cherry Bombs and Hellcats.  Get out.  Do it all.

Is it possible to not at least somewhat love The Clientele?  I mean, there just aren't that many bands out there that have been as consistently good as these guys.  It's really impressive.  Anyway, they have a new mini-album for you to consume.  It's titled Minotaur and it can be yours in exchange for cold hard cash on August 31 via Merge.  Enjoy.

:The Clientele - Jerry:  I suppose you could argue that the band is always good because their sound never really seems to change much, but I'm honestly OK with that.  They do the dreamy pop thing as good as anyone ever has and any sort of variation on that would probably freak me out.  Although, this does feature a quasi-spazz out towards the end that will probably always catch me off guard.  Is it a sign of things to come?  Probably not.  But I appreciate the twist.
